Privacy Policy

Because your privacy is important, UKNetworker operates by these principles:

UKNetworker only requests information from you that is directly necessary in order to perform the functions required of the UKNetworker website, and any information relating to specific services or products. Your information will never be sold by UKNetworker, or shared beyond the services/systems used to securely store your data and deliver UKNetworker services to you. Any of your information provided to UKNetworker will be freely provided by you. If at any time you believe that UKNetworker hasn’t adhered to these principles, please make contact and all commercially reasonable efforts will be made to determine and correct the problem promptly.

The personal data UKNetworker collects and why it is collected

Member profile pages

UKNetworker collects information/data provided by members who choose to set up profiles as a member, guest speaker, networking service provider, or venue or multiple venues. Any data collected via the relevant forms on the site is freely provided by the person filling and submitting the form. This data is stored solely for the purpose of displaying that information to other members on the related profile pages.

Contributor content

Members who choose to be ‘Contributors’ on the website freely provide any data or content for their Author Bio and the content of any posts they submit for publication on the UKNetworker website themselves.

Comments

If UKNetworker members leave comments on the site (when/if this facility is available), UKNetworker collects the data shown in a comments form, and also potentially the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

Any data collected via any contact/enquiry form on the site is freely provided by the person filling and submitting the form. This data is stored solely for the purpose of responding to the person submitting the form, and for future recognition of the person’s history/relationship with UKNetworker, to aid in providing a high standard of user support and maintaining a positive user experience.

Cookies

If you have your browser set to accept cookies, standard cookies (as used by most websites) will be stored by your browser. Cookies help to streamline your experience if you return to the website. No personal information or data is collected from you through the use of these cookies.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles, event detail pages, and member profiles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who UKNetworker shares your data with

Your data is only held by UKNetworker, and the trusted third party service providers used to deliver services. In particular, UKNetworker’s email delivery service provider, Active Campaign (https://www.activecampaign.com). UKNetworker does not sell or share any of your personal data to any third party, and never will.

How long UKNetworker retains your data

If you submit any content on the site, that content and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so UKNetworker can recognise and approve any follow-up content or user-editing of that content automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. All members can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. For subscribers to any UKNetworker mailing lists, UKNetworker only retains your self-provided data in UKNetworker’s mailing systems until such a time you choose to unsubscribe from particular mailing lists. If you unsubscribe from one list, UKNetworker may still hold your information if you are subscribed to other lists, until such a time that you also unsubscribe from those lists.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive the personal data UKNetworker holds about you. You can also request that UKNetworker erases any personal data held about you. This does not include any data UKNetworker is obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
